Abstract

This article is born from an in-depth analysis of the short La guerra (Luiso Berdejo and Jorge C. Dorado, 2005), and focuses on how the film uses different expressive and narrative resources to question classic cinematographic narrative. Special attention is paid to the opening and closing of the narration, as well as to the representation of spaces and characters. The role of the mysterious female voice of the storyteller is examined and the moral of the story is broken down, pointing to an antiwar message that borrows elements from thriller and horror films.
