Abstract

This article reflects on some of the manifestations of the contemporary documentary, focusing on the work of Chris Marker and David Perlov. The text presents the notion of cinema as an everyday task of observation, aimed at capturing a series of shots that reflect reality, in the form of collections. The theory suggests that to film everyday life is to organize reality into images that function as tiny archives of information about the world.
