Abstract

The existence of economic motivations in the adoption of the Production Code does not prevent this code from being inscribed, moreover, as a fundamental piece in the dispute for the social place that cinema should occupy, and, therefore, in the definitive configuration, of the essential features of what we know today as classical cinema.
