Abstract

We live in a context in which cultural and industrial globalization

is a more and more complex and paradoxical process

whose main characteristic seems to be the tension and struggle

between the local and the global. This discussion among

experts in television from different countries seeks to broaden

the geographical horizons of what we talk about when we

talk about television production, distribution, and reception,

so as to figure out how to rethink the medium beyond the

“quality TV” boundaries.
