Abstract

Contemporary thriller, as represented in Michael Mann’s films, basically revolves around the dichotomy presented by a willingly self sufficient society which, however, leaves its landmark intact, since it would feel defenseless without them. Maybe that is why we have to follow the trail of classic cinema and its heroes in order to understand this contradiction.
