Abstract

Over the last decade, contemporary Spanish cinema’s interest in the recent past of the Spanish history has resulted in some revival films on the last years of the Franco period. Critics have claimed these films lack of commitment to the past, as they use pastiche to recycle images from popular culture from the sixties. Nevertheless, films like Los años desnudos and El camino de los ingleses search for new ways to re-interpret images from the past.
